WHY
The Marriage-athon event was conceived due to the uncertainty of marriage equality. We want you to know that a more urgent, time sensitive option is available to you. Couples typically have years to rewrite wills, transfer power of attorneys, start or finalize adoptions, get joint bank accounts, etc. It’s likely that couples who marry now will only have weeks or months as the Supreme Court plans to recall Marriage Equality. Please let others in your LGBTQIA+ family know that this could be a special option for them as well. We want to create something wonderful for as many couples as possible

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does this cost?
This is completely free. We will have a donation box with all donations going to the The Trevor Project.

How do we make this legal?
You will need to make an appointment to pick-up the paperwork. You can do this in any Oregon county except Multnomah County (Multnomah is not currently allowing in-person pick-up and only sends marriage license paperwork through the mail, which takes about two weeks).

The application fee varies by county but ranges from $50-$70. There is a 3 day waiting period in most counties. Some counties, including Multnomah County, will waive it for a $5 fee. Keep your license in a secure location and bring the entire packet to the event. Your officiant will deliver the completed marriage license within 5 days of the marriage ceremony. You can then order certified copies of your license, typically within 2 weeks of filing the marriage license, for your legal records from the county.
Can I bring my own officiant?
We don't want you to worry about a thing. We have secured Rooted and Wild officiating and Jamie Carle for officiating services.
How long will my event be?
Each couple will be allotted 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will check in and receive your florals and personalized signage. You will head over to your dedicated space for a 15 minute ceremony followed by 10 minutes of photos. We will then ask for you to step outside as we are trying to help as many couples as quickly as possible. Outside, a second photographer and some sweets will be waiting for you. We ask that you arrive on time.
What will my flowers look like?
We will work with you to select your color palette and you will be able to select two of your choice between a simple bouquet, boutonniere, corsage or floral hair comb. You will be asked to fill out a form prior to the event.
Can I bring witnesses?
Unfortunately, due to Covid we are trying to limit the amount of guests and vendors in attendance. We will not be able to accommodate additional attendees. Your photographer and event staff will sign your paperwork as witnesses. Please bring your paperwork with you. Your family is welcome to wait outside to celebrate with you immediately after.
Is this event Covid safe? Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks will be required. You will be able to remove your mask during your ceremony and post-ceremony photos only. All vendors will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing to the best of our ability. We will also have sanitizer. If you are at high risk, please let us know so we can allocate extra time for you.
How many pictures will I get?
You will have about 45 minutes of photography coverage and will receive an online gallery of high-resolution edited photos delivered within 4 weeks to your Inbox. Personal downloading and printing rights will be included.
Who should I talk to if I have more questions or need help on our wedding day?
Keen Events will be available for any logistical questions you may have leading up and throughout your wedding day.
